As part of the Children’s Day celebration, on June 20, 2026, the María Luisa de Moreno International Foundation held the EcoHeroes event in London, Ontario, creating a meaningful space where children and their families learned about the importance of caring for the environment through educational and recreational activities.
Throughout the event, participants strengthened their understanding of proper waste management by learning the concept of waste and the role of the green, black, and blue recycling bins in effective waste separation. They also reflected on the importance of reducing waste as a practical way to protect the environment, encouraging children to develop responsible habits that can be applied in their daily lives.
The program featured games, prize raffles, a puppet show, and a movie session with popcorn, where attendees watched a short film focused on environmental stewardship. Refreshments were also provided, creating an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere that reinforced values such as solidarity, responsible use of resources, and environmental responsibility.
