The International Foundation Maria Luisa de Moreno on the 17th of September in the city of London Canada, provided food donation to the shelter called, “Unity Project” which is located in the center of London. In this event the food given will feed 30 men and women who have very limited means. Thanks to the donation of a particular person and the hard work of all the foundation’s volunteers, this donation was provided.
Last Activities
The mayor of Calgary Naheed Nehshi thanked the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation for the work, support, generosity and time they have provided in helping cleanup Calgary in the 49th Annual Pathway and River Cleanup.
With the help of 12 volunteers the Foundation contributed to the city of London by cleaning Jesse Davidson’s park on September 24, 2016. For almost two hours we held a day of cleaning and maintenance of the park, which was adopted by the Foundation four years ago. The purpose of the clean-up is to give back to the city by taking care of our environment. Through these clean-ups we ensure that those families that go to this park will have a clean space to enjoy with their families. Similarly in cleaning the park we have families that attend with their children teaching them from an early age the importance of caring for our environment.
For the 5th consecutive year, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation organized One Day For Kids event on Sunday, August 14th, this year in the city of Montreal, Quebec where 110 children have benefited from school kits, prizes, piñatas, gifts and snacks.
It was a day full of fun activities where kids between 0-12 years old participated in nursery rhymes and zumba children; they also enjoyed various musical presentations and the play “No Bullying or School Harassment” in charge of the young volunteers of the Foundation, from whom they learned values such as respect, tolerance and solidarity.
On a sunshine-filled day, full of happiness and fun, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation celebrated the educational campaign “One Day for Kids” in Southeast Optimist Park in the city of London, Ontario. More than 350 children enjoyed an abundant number of activities such as recreational games, dental hygiene class, healthy cooking class and they learned tips on saving for postsecondary education among other activities.
In additional to all the prizes and games that were given out throughout the day, 308 backpacks filled with school supplies and a dental hygiene kits were handed out to children between the ages of 3-12.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation celebrated “Senior’s Day” in the city of Montreal – Canada. More than 45 people attended to celebrated and participated in wonderful activities such as, zumba classes, thematic photography sessions, conferences about healthy habits and nutrition, etc.
Last Saturday April 30th 2016, a general clean-up of the park Ahuntsic in Montreal was done. The park was divided into 4 parts and each section had 4 coordinators who lead the clean-up task alongside the volunteers. The trash was picked up and separated into recyclables, trash, and leaves and branches. Once all the trash was collected it was then left at a pick up point to be taken by the city. At the same time, an activity was being done with the smaller children, showing them the importance of taking care of the environment, while they played and painted. This activity was overseen by an adult with the help of 4 young adults. In this activity was delivered 57 hotdogs with 57 juices boxes and candy for the children.

The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation – Canada celebrated a day for kids this past September 2015 in the city of Calgary, Canada. This activity allowed boys and girls of different cultures to be brought together in which they all had a moment of happiness. A dance competition took place and gifts, food and more were given to them. In short, the boys and girls of Calgary had unforgettable moments along with their families which is something that our founder Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno has always wanted.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation Canada, thinking about the community of Calgary, realized a workshop this past January 2015 with an immigration specialist in which the people attending received information and under the supervision of a moderator they worked in teams and developed activities that allowed them to know more of the different immigration statuses in Canada.
