The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation accomplish the event My Planet, My City and Me took place in the Ahuntsic Park, located on Lajeunesse Street in Montreal, Canada, On Saturday May 20th 2017. The activity was to do a general clean-up of the park, separating the waste, recyclables, leaves and branches.

In the month of April 2017, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation restarted the French Conversation class for the Intermediate/Advanced level for the Spring Session.
This course is offered to people who wants to improve their pronunciation et the listening of the French language. We have the support of a devoted teacher that makes the class dynamic with day-to-day subjects. Each week, two classes of 50 minutes are given at the offices of the Foundation.
During the month of March and April 2017, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation helped 16 women, 6 men and 1 senior citizen file their income taxes, a total of 24 tax returns were done.
The tax clinic’s main objective was to aid people who need help in preparing and filing their income tax returns for the year 2016. The tax clinic is meant for people who are not able to file their own tax returns or are not able to seek professional help due to their modest income and due to their simple fiscal situation.
On December 17, 2016 Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation with a group of volunteers in the city of Toronto, went to the company Laborie Medical Technologies Canada to receive donations wich were distributed to seven families in need.
On March 1st 2017, The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation organized “One Day for Kids” in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, where 23 children were benefited with school kits, snacks, games, contests and a delicious lunch.
With the help of 13 volunteers, Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation in Toronto had the Food Cupboard Project where 41 people could receive different varieties of well-balanced food consisting of vegetables, fruits and dairy.
In the month of February the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation provided adult diapers and sanitary pads to people living in the greater Montreal area, who do no have the necessary financial means to buy them and taking into consideration that the cost of diapers and sanitary pads can range from $500 to $700 a month. The drive was done with the help of the MLMIF volunteers, who donated their time, gas, and their desire to help out people in need.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation On January 14th, 2017 held a Food Drive were 80 families were helped. This event took place in the Montreal office of the Foundation, where free coffee and snacks were provided while people received their food baskets. In addition, 20 volunteers helped us in organizing and distributing the food baskets given out that day.
To finalize a very productive 2016, the Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation (Canada) held a day for all the volunteers to appreciate their hard work and commitment throughout the year. At the event we presented a summary of what we accomplished in 2016, the projects for 2017, and made an individual recognition to each of the volunteers who are the most important resource of our Foundation.
The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation – Canada, is providing a workshop in legal advice in Montreal where 15 people have benefited from this help. This workshop has been offered since August of 2016 with the help of 2 lawyers who have more than 15 years expertise and specialize in immigration.
